The cinemagraph hype is slowly making its way into Austria. If you’re now wondering what a cinemagraph is supposed to be, here’s the answer.

I think “cinemagraph is a product of still photo with minor elements moving on” is almost the most beautiful description.

A photo with small elements / sections that continue to move (i.e. are video elements). The whole thing can be distributed particularly well as a GIF, i.e. actually as an image file. But cinemagraphs also often appear as video files. Cinemagraphs have been around for several years, especially on the tumblr platform, and I think this is where most users became aware of this special form of GIF.
